Ice Follies Update

Friday, March 19th, 2010

The Ice Auger Project is now totally removed from Lake Nipissing. I would like to thank all the people that went down to the lake to view my project. As usual, installing a project had a large learning curve, but it was well worth it. Again, thanks for coming down. I’ll start posting painting images soon. van-schie.

Ice Follies Update

Yesterday I went down to the waterfront to take a look at the installation and to my surprise there was a guy helping himself to the bamboo poles. This was in broad daylight. When he saw me walking towards the installation, he then threw down the poles and walked away with his dog. Upon seeing this I made the decision to start taking down the project. By last night all the remaining solar lights were removed and the bamboo poles are slowing coming off. So, this being said, if you’re down at the lake you will not see the lights on at night and the area seems a bit thin without the bamboo poles. van-schie.
